How to Clean Your Vessel

Before inserting your refill, ensure your vessel is completely free of any remaining wax, debris, and adhesives. A clean, dry vessel ensures your refill fits securely and burns safely.

Choose the method that works best for you:

The Warm Water Method

Place your Reverie Box vessel in a bowl of hot water. The residual wax will begin to soften and release from the glass. Pour off any liquified wax carefully, then use a spoon to gently pop out any remaining wick tabs or adhesive stickers from the bottom of the vessel. Wipe out any remaining residue with a paper towel or soft cloth, then wash the interior with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.

The Freezer Method

Place your vessel in the freezer for a few hours. The wax will contract and release from the glass, making it easy to pop or scoop out cleanly with a butter knife or spoon. Remove any remaining wick tabs, wipe out any residue with a paper towel or soft cloth, then wash with warm soapy water and rinse.

Either way -

Dry the interior of the vessel thoroughly before inserting your refill. Take care not to scratch the exterior of the glass during handling.

If any adhesive residue from the wick tabs proves stubborn, a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a paper towel or soft cloth will help loosen and lift it cleanly.

⚠️ Please dispose of any poured-off or scooped wax in the trash - never down the drain, as wax can solidify in pipes and cause blockages.

Final Inspection

Before inserting your refill, do a quick final inspection of your vessel. Check for any cracks, chips, or damage to the glass. A compromised vessel should not be reused for burning. When in doubt, discontinue use and enjoy your refill in a new Reverie Box container.

How to Insert Your Refill

Unwrap your refill insert and remove the wick stickers from the base of the wax before dropping it into the clean, dry vessel. This step is essential - do not skip it.

Lower the refill into place and give it a gentle press down to ensure a secure, snug fit. This helps the wick tabs adhere properly to the base of the vessel - keeping your wicks perfectly centered and stable as the wax melts.

Your wicks are pre-trimmed and ready - simply light and enjoy.

Burn Safety Reminders

• Surface: Always burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials.
• Burn time: Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
• Wick maintenance: Trim wicks to ¼ inch before each subsequent burn to prevent excessive soot or high flames.
• Never leave unattended: Keep away from children, pets, and drafts.
• Safety margin: Discontinue use when ¼" to ½" of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel. Burning beyond this point can cause the glass to overheat.

A note on refills: By selecting a refill, you acknowledge that vessel reuse carries inherent variation with each burn. Our refills exist as an invitation to reduce waste and embrace the beauty of upcycling - not as a guarantee of identical performance across indefinite uses. Reverie Box Candle Co. is not liable for vessel or wax behavior beyond the first burn. As with all of our offerings, refills are made to order and poured by hand. Natural variation in color, texture, and scent throw is not a flaw - it is the signature of something genuinely handcrafted.
